Gebrüder Weiss Expands Air & Sea Network

Gebrüder Weiss AG Switzerland (GW) strengthens location in Zurich with purchases of AERSPED AG International and Freight Factory International AG.

The contracts were signed at the beginning of this week between GW and the sole owner of both companies, Werner Voigt. Both AERSPED and Freight Factory are specialised in international air and sea freight and have a combined total of 25 employees. The two companies will continue to operate independently from GW and will not be integrated into the organisation. At the same time, the synergies will be used most effectively.

The roots of the companies go back to 1966, and both were led in the 2nd generation. Werner Voigt is planning on moving to another country, which was the reason why he was looking for a buyer. "I’m glad that it was GW who decided to purchase the companies. GW has a company culture similar to ours and will continue to lead the companies in the same way they have been up to now,” says Voigt. Heinz Senger-Weiss, GW Air & Sea Management Board, continues: "We see the expansion of the network with the experienced team at the location in Zurich as the start of more intense growth in Switzerland.”
