Gebrüder Weiss (GW) has successfully worked together with Hellmann Worldwide Logistics (HWL) for more than 30 years. Both companies are founder members of System Alliance Europe (SAE), the leading European cooperation for general cargo. Today, the SAE network comprises 46 partners in 22 countries. Using regional strengths more effectively Customers will soon have access to daily roundtrip traffic between these regions via SAE’s Gateway Concept. The concept began with regular operations in February 2008. It comprises increasing the frequency of daily connections between Northern Germany and the countries of Central and Eastern European as well as optimising the service quality with regard to transit times and quality standards.
Effective 1 July, the partnership of the two family-owned companies will officially expand to include Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Germany, Macedonia, Moldavia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Hungary. Here, the focus lies in taking advantage of both companies’ regional core competencies.

Gebrüder Weiss has a long history that goes back more than 550 years. Today the largest private transport and logistics company in Austria is in its sixth generation of business. The company headquarters are in Lauterach/Vorarlberg, Austria. GW is an internationally active company, with its domestic market in the Alpine-Danube region. Founded in 1871, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics is a family-owned transport and logistics company with global operations, now in its fourth generation of business. The company headquarters are in Osnabruck/Lower Saxony, Germany. The range of services includes both transport services and tailor-made logistics solutions.
